Dawgs turn NCAA disappointment into strong NIT run

Following an early exit from the Pac-12 Tournament in March, the Washington Huskies men's basketball team earned a dubious honor -- the first Pac-12 regular season champion to not be selected to the NCAA tournament. The Dawgs were relegated to the National Invitation Tournament and made an impressive run as the top seed in its bracket. After wins over UT-Arlington, Northwestern and Oregon, the Huskies made it to Madison Square Garden for the semifinals, but fell to Minnesota 68-67 in overtime. Minnesota would get blown out by Stanford in the championship.
