Russell Wilson era begins in Seattle

Just over a month after the Seattle Seahawks signed Matt Flynn -- the man most people thought would be their quarterback of the future -- Seattle drafted Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson in the third round on April 27. Wilson would go on to win the job from Flynn in training camp and has become an unexpected contender for Rookie of the Year, even with the accomplishments of Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck.
