1928: Herbert Hoover, 7 Electoral Votes

Herbert Hoover (center) during a 1927 visit to Seattle. Hoover won the presidency in 1928, and Washington gave its Electoral Votes to him -- the last GOP candidate to win the White House for the next 20 years.
