The Commonwealth War Grave Commission manages 956 cemeteries in Belguim and France, which bear witness to the heavy human sacrifice made on the Western Front during the First World War (1914-1918) and Second World War (1939-1945). This year, November 11 will be the 90th anniversary of the Armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at Compi�gne, France, for the cessation of hostilities which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning on November 11 1918 and which ended the conflict that cost the lives of approximately 8 million men.
