EMINEM: SAYS THANKS TO FANS FOR HELPING HIM OVERCOME DRUGS

NEW YORK (AP) -- He says it in his song, "Not Afraid." And last night, he said it in person to some of his fans in New York City. Eminem says without fan support, he never would "have gotten out of that dark place" caused by his addiction to prescription drugs. The rapper made the comment before performing the song from his 2010 album "Recovery." And he dedicated his show at the Hammerstein Ballroom to "anybody ... who's been through personal struggles." Eminem, now 39, performed more than a dozen songs at an event for a watch company.
