BARACK OBAMA: GETTING HIS COMEDY ON
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama wasn't just commander in chief -- he was in command of the comedy stylings at this year's White House Correspondents Dinner. It started with his entrance -- making fun of his getting caught last month on an open microphone with the Russia's president. He was heard to ask off stage: "What am I doing here? I'm opening for Jimmy Kimmel and telling knock-knock jokes to Kim Kardashian." Obama also recalled what happened last year, when he knew about the operation to take down Osama bin Laden even as he cracked jokes at the annual event. He told his audience: "Last year at this time...we finally delivered justice to one of the world's most notorious individuals." But on the hotel ballroom's monitors, there was a picture of Donald Trump. Last year, Obama ripped into Trump for trying to make an issue about the president's birth certificate. He even dropped a joke on the Secret Service -- after some agents were let go for hiring prostitutes during his recent trip to Colombia. He cracked that he had more jokes to tell, but that he had "to get the Secret Service home in time for their new curfew."
