Photos: Retired Mega Millions lottery winner announced in Red Bud
The final winners of the Mega Millions Lottery came forward during a press conference in Red Bud, Illinois Wednesday morning. A $3 quick-pick earned Merle and Patricia Butler of Red Bud, Illinois a share of the record Mega Millions jackpot. The Butlers are retired and have been life-long residents of Red Bud. The Butlers were presented with a check for $218,666,667. Mr. Butler decided to accept the prize as a lump-sum payment of $111 million after taxes.
