POST FALLS, Idaho--  Officials at Ross Point kept busy during the winter on a rennovation and expansion project costing nearly one million dollars.

Ross Point is home to several events every year including Camp Journey, a summer camp for children affected by cancer. The site had not been expanded in nearly ten years.

Planned additions included a new enrance way,  gameroom, offices and improved kitchen.  The lobby will expand 70 feet toward the river according to Ross Point Executive Director John Batchelder.

Additionally, an informal gathering area will double as a memorial for a previous camper who died several years ago.

“We don't have that informal area,” Batchelder said. “Not only do we recognize that as a need, but the groups who come here say it would be great to have somewhere to hang out."

Directors expected  construction to be complete in April, in time for the busy season.
