The heated debate over health care reform continues to bring Washington state's leaders to Spokane.
Thursday Senator Patty Murray addressed a packed luncheon at the Spokane Club while protestors and supporters faced off outside.
Sen. Murray, who supports the president's plan for a health care overhaul, told members of the Spokane Rotary Club she understands why many people don't agree there's a need for change.
"Most people tell me in this room they're satisfied with the health care you have today," said Sen. Murray.
But she says the concern is the growing cost of covering the uninsured, and supports the idea of a competitive pool of private and public insurance options.
"The easy thing to do would be to say this is too hard but that would be the wrong thing for the future," said Sen. Murray
