BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Foreign policy is the topic for the third and final debate between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney
Moderator Bob Schieffer of CBS says the questions he'll put before the candidates will reflect "how dangerous the world is in which we live." Topics on the agenda include Iran's nuclear intentions, the fighting in Syria, security concerns in Afghanistan and China's growing power.
Throughout the campaign, foreign policy has been an Obama strength -- but some recent polls show his advantage narrowing. A Pew Research Center poll last month found that 47 percent of those surveyed favored Obama to make "wise decisions about foreign policy," while 43 percent preferred Romney.
Barring a last-minute change in strategy by one campaign or the other, Obama appears on course to win states and the District of Columbia that account for 237 of the 270 electoral votes needed for victory. The same is true for Romney in states with 191 electoral votes.
The battlegrounds account for the remaining 110 electoral votes: Florida (29), North Carolina (15), Virginia (13), New Hampshire (4), Iowa (6), Colorado (9), Nevada (6), Ohio (18) and Wisconsin (10).
