Wash. voters set new one-day record one day after setting record

SPOKANE, Wash. – For the second day in a row, voters in Washington state helped set a new one-day record for voter signups, officials with the Secretary of State said Tuesday.

On Monday, they announced a record 23,167 people had registered to vote through their main site. Tuesday, they announced a new record of 27,601 sign-ups via their online site MyVote.wa.gov.

The total number of registered voters now stands at 4,207,379 and officials said it is the first time they have exceeded 4.2 million.

The deadline to register online has passed, but you can still register in person through October 31.
