SPOKANE, Wash. – The State of Washington set a one-day record for voter registrations on Sunday after the second presidential debate, officials said Monday.
Officials said 23,167 people registered to vote through MyVote.wa.gov, the main voter information and registration tool. The previous one-day record was 13,109 that was recently set with a big assist from Facebook and Google.
The deadline to register to vote in Washington via online or through the mail is midnight on Monday. Mail-in registrations with an October 11 postmark will be honored, organizers said, since Monday is a federal holiday. Register to vote, or check your registration here.
Voter pamphlets are being mailed to 3.3 million households and ballots will go out next week, officials said.
