SPOKANE-- Voters in Eastern Washington are putting their money where their mouths are.

People to the east of the Cascades, don’t just vote in larger numbers for Republican candidates, they also donate more to help get them elected.

In the race for governor, Republican Rob McKenna has out fundraised Democrat Jay Inslee $12.3 million dollars to $9.3 million statewide.

In Spokane, McKenna gained 1,800 donations worth $276,000. Inslee had almost 1,200 contributions worth $145,000.

Supporters in Moses Lake donated $60,000 to McKenna and $6,000 to Inslee.

In Deer Park, voters donated $5,000 to McKenna, and $660 to Inslee.

In Cheney both candidates have almost the same number of donations but McKenna still ended up collecting an extra $3,000.

Outside of Washington both candidates received money from 42 other states.
