NEW YORK (AP) — The annual Clinton Global Initiative meeting this week has provided a platform for Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton to announce a series of financial commitments to address big problems around the globe.
The New York gathering also has offered a striking look at the past, present and future of one of America's most dominant political families.
The foundation created in 2001 has helped the former president tackle problems across the world. It's now the home base for Hillary Rodham Clinton as she considers a potential White House bid in 2016. Daughter Chelsea Clinton has become a prominent leader within the organization.
Republicans have signaled that the foundation's work — along with its funding — will be fair game if the former secretary of state runs for president.
