BOISE - Don't throw snowballs at police officers. That's the lesson from an incident early Sunday morning in Boise.
Alexander Macdonald, 32 of Bellevue, Idaho is in the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of battery on a police officer.
Officers say Macdonald threw a snowball at an officer - hitting him in the face.
The police officer was standing outside a patrol car, in the process of arresting two people for fighting in the area of 6th and Main in downtown Boise.
Several witnesses helped describe the suspect - and officers were able to track him down and make an arrest.
A police spokesperson said a witness said Macdonald "threw the snowball at the officer after his friend advised him not to."
Saturday night/Sunday morning was a busy time for officers - with several fights near the 6th & Main area. Officers say no one was seriously hurt - but several arrests were made.
