Winter Blast: Westside socked with snow, ice

SEATTLE -- Snow is falling again in Western Washington and Western Oregon, making a tough drive for commuters. A few inches of snow will pile-up before warmer air moves into the region this afternoon.

With streets like ice skating rinks, cars and even one fire truck were sliding around like bumper cars on Portland streets.
Tuesday, 7:35am:
Sea-Tac Airport spokesman Bob Parker says snow is likely to cause some flight delays this morning as crews plow the runways. He says the airport put down "anti-icer" before the snow started falling to keep it from sticking. Parker says ground operations at Sea-Tac are functioning in the snow. There are some flight delays/cancellations at Spokane Int'l because of the winter weather west of the Cascades.
Tuesday, 9:30am:
School is cancelled in most Western Washington school districts, including Seattle, Tacoma and Bellevue.
Tuesday, 10:55am:
The Oregon Dept. of Transportation is now requiring chains and traction tires on all freeways in the Portland metro area because of snow and ice.
