WENATCHEE, Wash. -- Prosecutors have filed assault charges against a 19-year-old man who smeared peanut butter on the forehead of a classmate with a severe peanut allergy at Wenatchee High School.
According to the police report, Joshua Hickson overheard the student saying he was allergic to peanuts and then dipped his finger in a peanut butter sandwich.
The victim told Hickson to stop, but Hickson put more peanut butter on his fingers and touched the student again, according to Wenatchee Police.
The victim did not suffer an allergic reaction.
Hickson faces a year in jail and a fine of $5,000 if convicted.
School administrators suspended Hickson after the September 8th incident.
