ASHFORD, Wash. -- The search for a man missing on Mount Rainier has been
canceled.
KING Zachary Weston had been camping and hiking in the park since since June 22 and planned to leave Aug. 21.
Mount Rainier National Park rangers called off the search for
22-year-old Zachary Weston of Meriden, Conn., Thursday.
Authorities said Weston began camping on the mountain June 22nd and was
last seen Aug. 11. He was planning to leave this Sunday.
Boot prints matching those of the aerospace engineering student at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology were found at the 10,000-foot
level last weekend.
He is believed to have a day pack, compass and an ice ax, but not
equipment suitable for climbing on glaciers.
