CALDWELL  -- Canyon County Sheriff's detectives have arrested a Melba woman for the alleged killing of George Richardson Jr. of Nampa.

34-year-old Nicole Lee Kirtley of Melba is currently being held in the Canyon County Detention Center without bond. She is charged with first degree murder and grand theft, and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon at 1:30.

Detectives say they've been working nonstop since the 59-year-old Richardson was found dead in his Nampa home Thursday. Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue says he died from multiple gunshots.

Richardson's 1997 Jeep Wrangler was recovered thanks to a tip from a passerby. It was found partially submerged in the Snake River, south of Melba.

NewsChannel 7 talked to several of Richardson's neighbors who said they're devastated. They tell us Richardson was a great guy who had lived in the home for many years. They say he lived alone and had retired. They're not sure why anyone would target him.

The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office is thanking the public for all the leads they provided throughout their investigation, but also say the investigation remains ongoing.
