GRAHAM, Wash--Law enforcement in Pierce County ran heavy DUI patrols Saturday in the eastern part of the county.

The effort was in honor of Daniel Morse, a 14-year-old boy killed by a drunk driver near Graham in 2009.

"It brings up all the memories more than usual, like it just happened all over again," said Daniel's mom Evelyn Machovsky.

He was riding the skateboard she got him for Christmas.

Thirty officers were on patrol for impaired drivers and visited bars, handing out packets filled with information on state liquor laws.

Any drivers arrested received a flier with Daniel's picture and story on it.
