PORTLAND – This Thursday’s episode of the popular and quirky television show “Portlandia” will feature some of the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the comedy sketch, feminist bookstore owners Toni and Candace have Blazers fever. They try and rally the not-so-enthusiastic team with some creative new game strategies. They also feel it’s their mission to teach the Blazer Dancers a thing or two.
This was only the second time on four seasons that any of the Blazers have appeared on the show. Last time, it was just LaMarcus Aldridge. But this time, most of the starting lineup will appear on the TV episode, along with team owner Paul Allen.
"Portlandia" was created by and stars Fred Armisen of "Saturday Night Live" fame and Carrie Brownstein, a Pacific Northwest native who is a former guitarist and vocalist for the band Sleater-Kinney.
The show, which airs on IFC, has a nationwide following and is set in Portland, Ore., which has a reputation for being progressive, hip and green.
