Former Washington State and NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf will not be extradited to Texas for a probation hearing, for now.

The Great Falls Tribune reports that prosecutors in Texas decided to allow Leaf to go through his 15-month commitment in Montana, which includes in a stint in a drug treatment facility.

Texas authorities issued warrants to bring Leaf to Randall County for a hearing to revoke another probation sentence he received there in 2010. Randall County District Attorney James Farren said at the time that the court planned to issue a sentence for the probation violation right away but would let him finish his Montana sentence before serving whatever punishment he would get in Texas.
