OLYMPIA, Wash.  - The mysterious disappearance of Robb Simmons fiancee Shantina Smiley and her 8-year-old son Azriel is drawing attention from across the nation.

Tuesday morning, Simmons appeared on MSNBC in hopes of getting even more help in trying to locate them.

"There is nothing that has me calm. I'm worrying constantly," he said. "You know they don't disappear; she always keeps in touch this makes no sense at all."

Twenty-nine-year-old Shantina Smiley and her son Azriel left their home in Silverdale on Saturday afternoon, on their way to visit relatives in Castle Rock.

But for some reason, the two got off I-5 and went into the city of Olympia. Thurston County deputies have tracked the pair at a number of odd locations.

First they were spotted before 8 pm Saturday night at the handy pantry convenience store. An hour later they went to the martin way diner. Forty-five minutes after that store surveillance video shows their van pulling in and out. At 10 that night they pulled over and asked for directions back to I-5.

They were never seen again, but their van turned up at the end of a steep dirt road on a private beach at Budd inlet, partly submerged in the water.

The side door and rear hatch of the van were open. Smiley's wallet was inside and there was no evidence of a crime.

Thurston County deputies say divers will go back into the water where the van was found this afternoon at low tide.

Detectives are trying to determine if Shantina Smiley has any mental or physical health problems Saturday night. She has no history of such problems.

Police say she Shantina is 5-foot-9, 140 pounds, with dark hair. Simmons says she has numerous tattoos, including one on her neck, and both wrists. She also had a couple of lightning bolts on her back. Azriel is 4-foot-2, 100 pounds, with a blond mohawk.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help with any information on Shantina and her son.  Contact the Sheriff’s Office at 360-786-5530 or 5500.
