IDAHO FALLS -- Police in Idaho Falls have arrested a man on suspicion of crashing his pickup truck into a tree in an effort to kill his female passenger.
KIFI-TV reports 42-year-old Colby Heaton was arrested Saturday afternoon on suspicion of aggravated battery with intent to commit a serious felony after crashing his pickup into a tree in Idaho Falls.
The woman told police that she and Heaton had been arguing since Thursday and that he had hit her with a hammer, kicked her and broke a glass ashtray over her head at their residence.
The woman said they went for a drive Saturday when Heaton began driving erratically and stabbed her with a pair of scissors before speeding toward the tree. The woman jumped from the pickup before the crash.
