BOISE, Idaho -- Idaho Department of Correction officials say an inmate at the Pocatello Women's Correctional Center has been found dead of an apparent suicide.
A correctional officer found 51-year-old Cindy R. Jones hanging in the shower area Sunday afternoon, and paramedics were unable to resuscitate her.
The department has asked the Idaho State Police to help with an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Jones' death.
Jones was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for second-degree kidnapping, aggravated assault and illegal possession of a weapon in 1994. She was scheduled to be released in 2018.
