KENT, Wash. -- A driver under the influence killed a teenager. On Friday, the victim’s family said the courts robbed them of justice.

Twenty-one-year-old Cody Money says he was high on pills the night he hit and killed Justin Relethford.

Money volunteered to give a blood sample. Prosecutors hoped to charge him with vehicular manslaughter, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that all blood draws need a search warrant. So without a warrant, the evidence against Cody Money was thrown out - and so was the manslaughter charge.

In court Friday, money received a much lighter sentence, but not without hearing from Justin Relethford's family. KING 5's Jim Forman reports.
