ASTORIA, Ore. -- One woman was killed Tuesday in a two-car crash on the Astoria-Megler Bridge.

Oregon State Police said 51-year-old Kathleen Ann Brock of Long Beach, Wash. was driving a rented Saturn when she tried to pass a vehicle pulling a trailer.

Her car hit an oncoming Dodge pickup at a high rate of speed, investigators said. Brock died at the scene.

The Dodge driver was seriously hurt and taken to a Portland hospital by LifeFlight.

OSP said Brock was not wearing a seatbelt.

The bridge was reopened just after 3 p.m. and the cause of the crash was under investigation.
