A woman out jogging near Seattle’s Green Lake was grabbed by a man Monday morning, but a bicyclist chased the attacker away.
It happened on the outer Green Lake Trail near Green Lake Drive and Wallingford Avenue.
Police say the woman heard someone coming up behind her that she thought was another jogger. The man grabbed her and pulled her into the trees. The woman screamed and tried to fight the man off. A bicyclist heard the woman screaming and chased the man away.
The bicyclist also left the scene and didn’t leave a name.
The victim was treated at the scene.
Police are looking for the attacker, but also want to talk to the bicyclist in hopes of getting a better description of the attacker.
The attacker is described as a white male in his early 20s. He had short brown hair and was wearing a sweatshirt with a hood. Police have increased patrols in the area to try and find the suspect.
Police say this incident does not appear to be related to an attempted abduction on Sunday in the Fremont neighborhood.
