PORTLAND -- A pet store in north Portland was the scene of an emotional reunion when a mother and daughter got their cat back years after he vanished.

Jenny Miller and her daughter greeted "Timmy" with big hugs and kisses. About three years ago, someone spotted “Timmy” in Portland, thought he was a stray, and took him home to Montana.

Years passed before a veterinarian noticed “Timmy” had a microchip.

“Timmy’s” real owners were notified, which led to Saturday's reunion.

A woman who happened to be coming to Portland for a wedding drove “Timmy” to town. Jenny told KGW that “Timmy” is settling in at home.
