FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - A two-month-old infant is in serious condition after being ejected from a vehicle involved in a rear-end collision.
According to the Federal Way Police, the accident occured in the 33300 block of Pacific Highway just after midnight Thursday morning..
Police say the vehicles were headed northbound when the one carrying the baby was hit from behind.
Police say at the time of the collision, the baby had been taken out of a car seat and was being fed by one of its parents sitting in the front seat. The infant was ejected from the car on impact. The child was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, suffering a possible skull fracture. The parents were not injured.
According to police, the second vehicle was being driven by a 22-year-old Tacoma woman. They suspect alcohol was a factor. The woman was taken to the police station where she was processed and released pending the results of a blood alcohol test.
