RENTON, Wash. - With training camp underway, Seattle Seahawks fans are waiting for news on running back Marshawn Lynch who is holding out for more money.
On the second day of camp, Lynch was once again a no-show at team headquarters.
“He is the heart and soul of the offense. He sets the tone on offense and defense,” said Seahawks fan Joey Gonzalez.
Thousands of fans watched the Seahawks practice Friday and Saturday. Some of them believe Lynch should fulfill his current contract, while others feel the team should pay him more.
“I own his jersey and he’s a great player but you are making $5 million dollars and you already got your signing bonus. Next guy up,” said fan Vic Surface.
“I don’t blame him for holding out. If he wants more money he should get it," said Rachel Gehrlein.
Earlier this week, Lynch told NFL Network analyst and former Seahawk Michael Robinson he will hold out in hopes of getting an upgrade on his current deal, USA Today reported. He is scheduled to make $5.5 million this season and $7.5 million next.
