MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- A Milwaukie man is getting ready to test his skill against the best in the world.
Robert Bundy is an arborist who also happens to be a competitive tree climber.
"It's great being in a profession where people compete in activities they do daily. It's nice having a physical job where people will do it for fun and I get paid for it," he said.
Bundy qualified for the International Tree Climbing Championships by winning the Northwest climbing title.
There are several events at the International Tree Climbing Championships. The one that gets the most attention is the foot lock climb. Climbers put on safety gear and climb as fast as the can up a tree.
Bundy says he always tries to show innovative techniques when he's competing.
The International Tree Climbing Championships takes place the first weekend in August in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
