NAMPA -- Miss Rodeo Idaho, Erica Greenwood, is working with coaches and trainers to compete for an even bigger title.
The 22-year-old Nampa native says she's come a long way with her horse, Rex, adding that she's proud to represent her state and her hometown as Miss Rodeo Idaho. But now she's setting her sights on a national title.
"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to the Miss Rodeo America pageant and try out," said Greenwood. "We have a horsemanship competition along with speech, interviews, personality and fashion show."
Even though Rex won't be traveling with her to the pageant she says it's not the horsemanship portion of the pageant that has her worried, it's the interview. "You have no idea what they're going to ask you and I think that's probably the scariest part."
Greenwood's father, Milt Greenwood, says the rodeo circuit has brought out his daughter's personality and given her confidence. Milt says her personality along with her sense of humor will set her apart saying, "Oh, she'll win."
But Greenwood is staying humble and doing everything she can to make a good impression when the competition starts on December 2.
