BELLEVUE, Wash.  -- Police said six people were injured in a two-alarm apartment fire in Bellevue.

Spokesman Carla Iafrate said one of the injured is a firefighter.

She did not know the extent of injuries, but the most seriously injured person was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The others went to local hospitals.

The fire began about 6:15 Tuesday morning at the Hampton Greens apartments in the 4500 block of 148th Avenue NE.

People living at the complex said they heard a loud explosion before the flames broke out.
