The Poulsbo WalMart is out $19,000 after police say someone came into the meat department and jabbed a syringe into a package of Jimmy Dean sausage.
It happened around 1 a.m. Saturday and the syringe was discovered by a shopper at 6 a.m.
Store managers say no meat purchases were made during that time, but to be safe they threw away all the meat.
The man accused was arrested and is facing charges. Police said there was probable cause to arrest the man for RCW 69.40.030: "Placing poison or other harmful object or substance in food, drinks, medicine or water."
Investigators say the man was high on heroin. Police say other syringes were found in the parking lot where the suspect vehicle had been parked.
