SEDRO WOOLLEY, Wash. -- Police say a 15-year-old girl was knocked unconscious during a math class at Sedro Woolley High School and the girl accused of attacking her will soon be facing charges.
Police and paramedics were called the high school at about 2 p.m. Monday.
Police say the confrontation was part of an ongoing feud between the two girls that came to a head, when the victim apparently told the other young girl involved to stop staring at her during math class.
According to witnesses, that was all it took for things to turn violent. They said the alleged attacker jumped out of her seat and said "I'm going to take care of this," and then punched the other girl four to five times in the face, before she fell out of her desk, hit her head on the floor, and reportedly lost consciousness.
Police say the teacher was in the room when this happened and immediately jumped in to break up the fight.
The girl accused of attacking her classmate was taken into custody and will likely be charged with simple assault.
The 15-year-old victim was rushed to United General Hospital.
There was no word on her condition.
