OREGON CITY, Ore. – Police were investigating a suspicious death overnight in Oregon City.
Just before 4 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a home at 1020 Hazelwood Drive after reports that a man was not breathing, said Tanner Crivellone with the Oregon City Police Department.
Police identified the deceased man as 42-year-old Brian Romo, who lived at the home with a roommate.
"I just woke up about 2:30 a.m. and heard all this fighting," said a neighbor. She said she had debated whether to call the police before, but did not.
"I wish now I had, because it could have saved a life, she said.
Officers quickly ruled the death as suspicious after entering the home Sunday.
"There's obvious trauma on the man's body, which raises our suspicion," said Greg Johnson of the Oregon City Police Department.
Police told KGW that Romo lived in the home with his mom, nephew and business partner. They said a friend from out of town was also in the home at the time of the death and everyone was cooperating with investigators.
The Oregon City Police Department and the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team were investigating the death. A medical exam was scheduled for Monday morning.
Police had not yet determined the manner of death.
