Suspect sought in sexual assault of elderly Seattle woman

Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted and robbed an elderly woman at knife point in the International District early Wednesday afternoon. 

Police say the victim, who is in her 80s, was walking in the back door of an apartment complex in the 200 block of 6th Avenue South when a man followed the her inside. 

Once inside the hallway of the building the suspect punched the victim on the head and body, knocked her to the ground and sexually assaulted her while holding a knife against her body.

He then stole the victim’s money and fled the scene. 

The suspect is described as being an unknown race male approximately six feet tall, 165 pounds with dark hair and last seen wearing a light-colored tank top, black pants, and a large necklace.  He was also carrying a black backpack.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she is being treated for her injuries.

Robbery and Sexual Assault Unit detectives responded to the scene and continue to investigate. 

Police believe the suspect has attacked and robbed two women at the apartment building.
