SHOSHONE -- Firefighters were working quickly Sunday evening to get a handle on a wind-driven wildfire burning about 10 miles northeast of Shoshone.
The Bureau of Land Management said the fire was first reported around 2:30 Sunday afternoon and was estimated at about 650 acres and growing. The fire was burning in grass and brush and winds were playing a role in the strength of the fire, a BLM spokesperson said.
There are some structures in the area, and crews on scene were working to keep the flames away. The BLM says numerous air and ground resources responded and others are on the way.
