SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. - County prosecutors have filed a first-degree murder charge against a man accused of a drive-by shooting that killed a 15-year-old Seattle girl last month.
Erick N. Walker of Marysville is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charge Friday in the death of Molly Conley. He had previously been charged with second-degree murder.
Prosecutors said Walker showed, “extreme indifference to human life” when he allegedly shot Conley as she was walking with friends late at night on June 1. They added a firearm charge which could increase his sentence if he is convicted.
Walker is also charged with four counts of drive-by shooting in connection with Conley's friends. He is also suspected of firing shots at several homes in the area around the same time as the Conley shooting.
