Marshawn Lynch's driving under the influence case is being delayed. His lawyers and the Alameda County prosecutors will meet on Monday to discuss a motion to supress evidence. But if nothing is settled, or no plea deal is reached, then Lynch's next court date is November 1. He's also scheduled for a readiness hearing for trial on Decemeber 27th.
A December date likley means this case will not be over before the end of the football season. So it's unlikely Lynch faces any punishment for this season. The NFL usually lets the legal process play out.
California Highway Patrol arrested Lynch last July in Oakland. He allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was later charged with DUI.
One thing to keep in mind, the Hawks running back has already been suspended by the NFL once before. The league gave him a 3-game suspension over a misdemeanor gun charge in 2009.
