HONOLULU -- Police have identified the body found in Hawaii on Monday as that of Ivanice "Ivy" Harris, a Portland woman reported missing.

Harris' body was found on the Waianae coastline. She went missing in Waikiki Thursday.

Her sister told KGW that Harris had lived a troubled life, but had been trying hard to turn it around.

"I'm struggling. I've never had a loss like this before, so I don't know what the days are going forward," said Shawntel Harris. "We're just sticking really close together as a family."

Ivy Harris, 29, had recently enrolled at Mt. Hood Community College and family members told KGW they were proud of the changes she was making in her life.

Now, they are left with questions, wanting to know how she died. Honolulu police told KGW it could be weeks before they would have answers for the family.

Harris, a graduate of Jefferson High School, traveled to Hawaii for her birthday with a group of friends including her boyfriend of eight years.
