Heads up runners (and walkers). There are a couple of events in the Seattle area that are so popular they are selling out quickly and people have gone to Craigslist, hoping to get tickets.

In both the Color Run and Color Vibe, runners and walkers are like a color canvas. They start out with a pristine white T, and end looking like a multi-colored art masterpiece.

As runners navigate the course, they are  blasted with blue, yellow, pink, purple, and green powder.

Organizers of Color Vibe say the powder is made from food quality cornstarch and is nontoxic, "100% safe, edible, biodegradable, and beautiful."

Runners will feel like they're "floating in a cloud of double rainbow happiness."

Organizers do advise people - especially children - to protect their eyes, and offer advice on how to clean up on their website.

Registration, which ranges from $40 to $50, includes an official T-shirt, Color Vibe color packet, and a prize.  [Register now]

Organizers say the event will benefit a local charity, but the charity has not yet been determined.

Color Vibe, which is not a timed event, is scheduled for Saturday, May 25 at Bellevue Community College.

Another run called The Color Run -  "the happiest 5K on the planet" - has become the largest 5-K event series in the country, with 600,000 finishers in 2012.

The Color Run in Seattle, set for May 12 at Seattle Center, sold out in record time.

Electric Run Seattle will be in Puyallup on Aug. 16. This is a 5k run/walk at night with lighting effects that are synchronized to music. Participants are encouraged to "get their glow on" by dressing up with neon attire and glow accessories.
