WEST SEATTLE – Police are looking for those responsible for gunfire that hit two cars in West Seattle Thursday night, narrowly missing a woman who was driving. Police believe the vehicles were hit by stray gunfire.

It happened just before 7 p.m. in the 8400 block of Delridge Way Southwest.

Carmen Young was pulling into her driveway when a bullet went through her driver's side window.

"All of a sudden, 'boom' and my window shattered," said Young. "Everyone keeps telling me how lucky I was."

Young, a mother of two, was not hurt. She said police found a bullet on her dashboard.

Seattle Police said, based on preliminary information, the vehicles were not targeted by the gunfire, but instead hit by stray rounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Seattle Police. Anonymous tips are welcome.
