KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- Fingerprint comparison has allowed Oregon authorities to identify the second of two men found fatally shot on an abandoned ranch in southern Oregon.
Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger said Monday that the Oregon State Police crime lab had identified the second body as that of 32-year-old Everardo Mendez-Ceja of Richmond, Calif.
Last Friday, the other man was positively identified as 38-year-old Ricardo Jauregui, of Oakley, Calif.
The bodies were found Oct. 18 near Bonanza, Ore.
A burned-out truck found several weeks ago about six miles from the location of the bodies belonged to Jauregui. Mendez-Ceja's family had reported him overdue, telling authorities he went to Bonanza to buy hay and a horse.
Evinger says detectives from multiple agencies are working the case.
