SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- A 7-year-old girl has died after she was found unconcious on a Sammamish playground.
King County Sheriff's deputies said she apparently choked herself with a jump rope.
The girl was found face-down at Samantha Smith Elementary School around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Two caretakers and the girl's 5-year-old brother were in the area at the time, but were picking berries when the accident may have occurred, deputies said.
The Lake Washington School District said the girl was not a student in the district.
