PORTLAND – A fugitive serial killing suspect is now charged in the deaths of three Portland women.
In late July 2012, Portland police said 63-year-old Jeffrey Paul Cutlip was living in Brownsville, Texas when he called police to admit his involvement in the murders. He was arrested and extradited to Portland on August 16.
Cutlip was indicted on two counts of aggravated murder and nine counts of murder in connection with the deaths.
Marlene Claire Carlson, 44, was found strangled in her apartment on Southwest 15th Avenue 1975. On April 4, 1977, 15-year-old Julie Marie Bennett disappeared and was found dead two days later in Johnson Creek.
Then, on July 21, 1993, 33-year-old Nielene Doll was found dead off SE Bull Run Road in rural Clackamas County.
