BOISE COUNTY -- The Boise County coroner says one person has died after a car crashed over an embankment into the reservoir near the Arrowrock Dam just after 7 p.m. Thursday.

The coroner says five people were in the vehicle, and four of them were able to get out.

The Boise County Sheriff, Ada County Sheriff's Office Dive Team, Mores Creek Ambulance, and Life Flight took part in the rescue near Macks Creek Park off of Arrowrock Road.

Life Flight did take at least one person from the accident.

A witness on the scene said it appeared a family of five was inside the car.

"It really kills me. In fact, there's a ton of people standing here, and everybody was just crying. It's very sad and very tragic," said Keri Mang.

The Boise County coroner expects to release more information Friday afternoon.
