PORTLAND -- A man has been arrested in Seattle for the murder of a woman found dead earlier this month in Southeast Portland.

Mark Daniel Beebout, 39, was arrested by the U.S. Marshal's Washington Fugitive Task Force without incident near North 45th Street and Burke Avenue in Seattle on Thursday.

He is suspected of killing of a 32 year old Nikayla Jaedon Powell.  Powell was found in her apartment on SE Belmont Street July 10.

Investigators learned that Powell and the Beebout knew each other and that the Powell's car and dog were missing. 

When Beebout was arrested Thursday he had the victim's dog with him.  The 1999 red Subaru Legacy had not been found. The license is 859BBQ.

Beebout next faces an extradition hearing in Seattle that would bring him back to Portland.
