TURLOCK, Wash. - There is a happy ending for dozens of hens rescued from a factory farm in Turlock, Wash.

In February, around 50,000 hens were left to starve at A&L Poultry until animal rescue groups stepped in to save some of them.

All of the hens were malnourished and severely dehydrated, but eventually nursed back to health.

On Thursday, dozens of hens arrived at an animal sanctuary northeast of Seattle.

The hens will be able to stay at the sanctuary or be adopted as family pets and layers.
